Müslüman Nabzı Nasıl Atmalı?

Paylaş:

Peygamberimiz (s.a.v.) “İşlerin hayırlısı vasat (orta) olandır” sözü ile Müslüman’ın hayatında olması gereken ifrat ve tefritten uzak istikrara dikkat çekmiştir.

Müslüman, düzenli bir sıklıkla okuduğu Kur’an-ı Kerim’in modemliği sayesinde her gün yeniden tazelenen kâinattaki kevni (yaratılış) ayetlerinden ibret alarak hayat akışını tayin etmelidir.

Her gün oruç tutmak, her gece teheccüd kılmak isteyen Hz.

“Her yaşadığın geçeği KADİR, her muhatap olduğun kişiyi HIZIR bil!”

How Should a Muslim’s Pulse Beat?

Our Prophet (peace be upon him) highlighted the importance of balance—avoiding both excess and deficiency—in a Muslim’s life by stating, "The best of affairs are those that are moderate (balanced)."

A Muslim should shape the course of their life by drawing lessons from the signs of creation—the *kawni* (existential) verses—manifested throughout the universe, which are renewed daily, much like the Holy Quran, which a Muslim reads with consistent regularity.

Let us illustrate this point using the example of the "human pulse."

For a healthy adult at rest, a normal pulse rate typically ranges between 60 and 100 beats per minute (BPM).

In individuals who exercise regularly or in athletes, this rate may be as low as 40 to 60 beats per minute.

Normal resting pulse rates by age group are as follows:

• Newborn (0–4 weeks): 100–160 beats/min

• Infant (0–1 year): 80–140 beats/min

• 1–3 years: 80–130 beats/min

• 3–5 years: 80–120 beats/min

• 6–10 years: 70–110 beats/min

• 11–14 years: 60–105 beats/min

• 15 years and older (Adult): 60–100 beats/min

As you can see, while a heart rate may range from 100 to 160 beats per minute in infancy, it settles into a range of 60 to 100 in adulthood—or even 40 to 60 in those who exercise regularly.

Indeed, a stable heart rate in adulthood is considered one of the most significant indicators of health.

Similarly, a Muslim should structure their life around the *fard* (obligatory), *wajib* (necessary), and *sunnah* (recommended) acts prescribed in the Quran and the *Sunnah*—maintaining a consistent, even if modest, practice—and should strive to uphold this path until their very last breath.

When a group of young companions—including Ali (may Allah be pleased with him)—expressed a desire to fast every single day and perform the *Tahajjud* (night) prayer every single night, the Prophet (peace be upon him) cautioned them against this, teaching that "the best act of worship is that which is done consistently, even if it is little." This reminds us of the importance of cultivating virtuous habits that we can sustain throughout our entire lives.

So, what does this tell us?

A Muslim should not confine acts of worship to specific times (such as Fridays or holy nights) or particular places (like Mecca, Medina, or Jerusalem) to the neglect of all other times and locations.

In line with Imam al-Maturidi’s counsel—"You should recognize Allah as your only Master, and the Messenger of Allah as your only Teacher"—a Muslim ought to maintain a sense of balance and moderation in their conduct toward others.

Consequently, while there may be a slight quickening of the spiritual pulse in certain settings or at certain times, there should be no drastic shifts in one’s fundamental disposition.

Muslims who fill mosques to capacity on the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr) should not leave those same spaces desolate and abandoned the following day.

Within the tradition of the Hanafi-Maturidi-Yasawi path, one should adopt the following maxim—which encapsulates this entire approach—as a guiding light and mentor for the rhythm of one’s spiritual life:

"Regard every moment you experience as the 'Night of Power' (Qadr), and every person you encounter as 'Khidr'!"
